"Immigration & Urban Design" en New York
How is immigration influencing the design of our cities?
(Ncd).- The Forum for Urban Design and The Next American City are co-hosting a panel discussion on 10/19 entitled "Immigration & Urban Design" that might be of interest to CUNY students, and Ethnic Studies students in particular. We’ve invited California-based architect Teddy Cruz, who is interested in studying and improving the design of border zones— areas normally neglected and overlooked. In particular, Cruz has done work on the US-Mexican border and has also gained national reputation for his low income housing designs. NYU American Studies professor Andrew Ross will also speak on how immigration and urban design influence each other.
How is immigration influencing the design of our cities? Join California-based architect Teddy Cruz and Andrew Ross, author and Professor of American Studies at NYU as they weigh in on the topic. Moderated by The Next American City architecture editor Mariana Mogilevich. Reception will follow.
October 19, 2006, 6:00-8:00pm / 2nd Floor Oak Room, Steven L Newman Hall, 137 East 22nd Street, between Lexington and 3rd Avenues, New York City.
